Occupational Therapy

For children and adults

Occupational Therapists are experts in enabling people to participate in their everyday activities of life such as self-care, education, work, and leisure or social activities.

We can help you make a plan to return to your everyday activities.

Through a range of assessments, Occupational Therapists develop an understanding of their clients’ needs and goals and identify the issues or obstacles preventing them from participating in their everyday activities.

Occupational Therapists are expert problem solvers!

Occupational Therapists work with their clients by either enhancing their personal skills, modifying the environment or adjusting the activities.

Heroes Allied Health Occupational Therapists support individuals of all ages and abilities with the following services:

  1. Evidence-Based Therapies and Interventions
  2. Functional Capacity Assessments
  3. NDIS Accommodation Assessments and Reports
  4. Assistive Technology (AT) and Equipment Prescription
  5. Home Modifications
  6. Mental Health assistance with participation in meaningful activities

We can offer strategies and tips to assist you in what is one of the most rewarding but also most difficult jobs in the world.

Individualised therapy for your child addressing their specific goals and needs.

Why choose us.

None of us are just “diagnoses” and we are always looking to emphasise your child’s strengths and interests. However, sometimes parents are looking for therapists with experience with particular diagnoses. Our team has experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, DCD, anxiety, intellectual disability, but our approach means we focus on the activities that you and your child want to do and need to do such as having successful bedtime routines, learning how to play with peers, and coping with new environments.

Instead of you coming to us, we come to you and help you and your family in the setting where you or your child might be having difficulties. That way, we can try out strategies in the environment where you need them.

We are predominantly community-based and work with you in your home.

Whilst Heroes Allied Health clinicians provide mostly in-home services, therapy rooms are also available in the Noosa office and limited Telehealth services are an option in certain circumstances.

We service the Sunshine Coast region from Caloundra to Gympie and Bundaberg.
