Dr Jeanne Georgius

Founder of Heroes Allied Health

Dr Jeanne Georgius is the founder and director of Heroes Allied Health. She is a Clinical Neuropsychologist who obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Victoria and is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Neuropsychologists, as well as a member of both the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI) and the International Neuropsychological Society (INS).

She has a wealth of experience having worked as a clinician in hospitals in Melbourne and Ballarat, as well as a lecturer in the Psychology and Postgraduate Neuropsychology programs of the University of Victoria. One of her most challenging and instructive early work experiences was her work in the emergency behaviour unit in Disability Services in Hobart. She has worked in private practice in Noosa Heads for the last 10 years, predominantly in the medico-legal sphere but has in more recent years gained much experience in the NDIS.

She has extensive knowledge and training in medico-legal assessments, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Remediation. She has 20 years of experience in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology and has specialist knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury.

Jeanne is passionate about improving outcomes for her clients by providing clinical excellence and evidence-based recommendations with empathy and warmth.

Heidi Miller

Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy)

Occupational Therapist

Heidi Miller, is a Senior Occupational Therapist who has over 30 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist in Mental Health in the community, acute and emergency settings, as well as in a tertiary education setting, as a Clinical Trainer.

Heidi has particular interest and expertise in working with people who are living with mental health conditions, to identify and work towards their personal health and goals. 

She has a warm and caring personality with an infectious sense of humour combined with keen clinical reasoning and a sound ability to make evidenced-based recommendations. 

Heidi brings integrity and passion to her clinical work, ensuring the best outcomes for her clients. We are so fortunate to have her on our team!

Penny Taylor

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Penny Taylor has lived and worked as an Occupational Therapist on the Sunshine Coast for 25 years in both the mental health and tertiary education sectors. 

She strongly values the development of collaborative working relationships with clients to identify their strengths, problems and creative solutions that not only support their participation in all aspects of their daily lives, but their dreams for the future. 

Penny is a warm, friendly person who believes in communicating not just the ‘what’, but the ‘why’ and ‘how’, of service delivery to ensure clients and others can be fairly involved in health care decisions.

Ann Kennedy-Behr

Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy)

Occupational Therapist

Ann Kennedy-Behr is an Occupational Therapist and researcher with over 15 years of experience working with children and their families. 

She is passionate about supporting parents and caregivers of children with disabilities and making healthcare as accessible as possible, particularly for people living in rural and remote areas or unable to access services due to other factors. Ann has taught in Occupational Therapy programs and worked as a therapist around the world.

She completed her PhD at The University of Queensland in 2013, has co-edited two textbooks and brings a wealth of experience in evidence-based practice to her role as a clinician. She is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of South Australia.

Brittany Kuhn

Master of Occupational Therapy

Brittany Kuhn graduated with a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Exercise Science), before going on to receive her Masters in Occupational Therapy (OT).

Brittany Kuhn has clinical experience in the NDIS, My Aged Care and DVA sectors, working mostly with adults. Brittany has worked extensively within the acute care settings and has much experience with cognitive assessments and interventions, falls education, carer training (particularly manual handling), equipment prescription, functional assessments, discharge planning, palliative care, pressure injury care as well as minor and occasionally major home modifications.

Brittany is passionate about supporting individuals to reach their goals and always aims to better her own knowledge and experience to better help the clients she works with.

Katerina Cook

Master of Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapist

Katerina has extensive experience working with clients of varied demographics and complex medical conditions. 

She loves working with clients to promote independence and improve their quality of life. Katerina has worked within the NDIS, My Aged Care (MAC) and DVA funding sectors providing therapy interventions, equipment prescriptions, environmental assessments and recommendations, as well as comprehensive functional capacity assessments.

Katerina is a warm, caring and highly personable therapist who is delighted to be supporting clients in the Sunshine Coast region. 

Georgia Stone

Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology 

Speech Therapist

Georgia Stone has completed a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology degree and is a current member of Speech Pathology Australia.

She has experience working with adults within both the NDIS and Residential Aged Care sectors. Georgia has a vibrant and friendly personality and loves working alongside clients and their families to achieve their goals.

Her particular interest  is in dysphagia management and end of life care. Georgia is excited to be joining the Heroes Allied Health team and meeting our amazing clients!

Tina Hersom

Practice Manager, Administration

Practice Manager

Tina is our fabulous Practice Manager and she has more than 30 years of management experience across the health and disability sector.

Tina has a wealth of management expertise, as well as a warm and caring personality, mischievous sense of humour and superb interpersonal skills that enable her to quickly establish rapport with anyone she interacts with.

She is highly skilled, organised and has a positive, solutions-focused attitude. Tina is excited about being part of a team that supports individuals to reach their full potential and we are so very fortunate to have her on our team!
